I\u2019ve been in a bit of a grump lately\u2026 I have come to realize that if I don\u2019t take pictures I\u2019m excited about for a few days, I start with the \u201cwoe is me\u201d thoughts.\u00a0 Those don\u2019t help anybody! <\/em><\/p>\n

So, I decided I needed to make a commitment to stop moping, get off my arse,\u00a0 and go shoot!\u00a0 I thought of an idea that ultimately led to an even better idea (if I do say so myself!)<\/p>\n

My 1st thought was to go to drive around, location scout, and take pictures to build up a library of location ideas.\u00a0 The location isn\u2019t everything, but it is absolutely an integral part of how the shoot will look in the end.\u00a0 I am so lucky to live in Seattle~a beautiful city, that has endless options for amazing pictures\u2026<\/p>\n

My 2nd thought came as I was driving to a well known park in West Seattle-Lincoln Park<\/a>.\u00a0 I thought I would start in my neck of the woods, in the hopes that maaaaaybe I could lure people over here to do some shots!\u00a0 Before I moved to West Seattle 2 years ago, all I knew was the softball fields and beach volleyball courts down on Alki.\u00a0 That was my only reason for going over the bridge\u2026play sports and then leave.\u00a0 I really had no idea how beautiful West Seattle was.\u00a0 I\u2019m still learning all the nooks and crannies, which again leads me back to my 2nd thought (me ramble off on a tangent?\u00a0 No!).\u00a0 As I was driving to Lincoln Park, I rubbernecked at the sight of an adorable P-Patch.\u00a0 What a perfect location for a photo shoot!\u00a0 Flowers all around, that change with the seasons!\u00a0 And there was born my 2nd idea.\u00a0 Go find a traditional \u201cLandmark Location\u201d, shoot some shots, and then find an obscure location(s) near by that are off the beaten path that won\u2019t be crowded with a bunch of people nor been featured in 800 other photo shoots. Chicken\/Egg\u2026.doesn\u2019t matter which comes first :).<\/p>\n

Now\u2026check out the adorable P-Patch.\u00a0 It was even BETTER than I had expected!<\/p>\n

I expected a bunch of beautiful flowers and plants, but I didn\u2019t expect all the fun winding paths.\u00a0 L-O-V-E!!<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

All the tall grass\u2026 And a PICNIC TABLE???<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

I love these next flowers\/plants\/whatever they are\u2026\u201dWhich way did she go?\u201d\u2026.\u201dThat way.\u201d, \u201cNo, THAT way\u201d\u00a0 \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

Then at the top of one of the paths, I came upon this clearing at the top that overlooked the water!\u00a0 Are you kidding me???<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

Then a bridge <\/em>to another set of stairs that came out onto a totally cool alley.\u00a0 I couldn\u2019t have dreamed this place up!<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

Going to Lincoln Park after this was a little anticlimactic, which is saying a lot.\u00a0 Lincoln Park is beautiful\u2026.<\/p>\n

\"\" \"\" \"\" \"\" \"\" \"\" So, for my 1st installment of Location Scouting\u2026I\u2019m pretty happy!\u00a0 And officially out of my funk \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n

p.s. Lincoln Park is HUGE.\u00a0 I only got about 20 minutes in before I realized I didn\u2019t have any sunscreen on\u2026and wondered if I forgot my deodorant too\u2026 \ud83d\ude41\u00a0 Needless to say, I headed home :}\u00a0 More another day!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
