Sometimes, I really don\u2019t know why I do the things I do\u2026 However, I guess there is a reason my nickname is \u201call or nothing Kahan\u201d.<\/p>\n

I mean, getting a new lens~FUN!!\u00a0 Getting new software (CS5 and Lightroom)~thought it would be fun\u2026 Trying to transition to shooting in M (Manual) mode~didn\u2019t even kid myself.\u00a0 Trying to do figure out ALL of those things on the same day???\u00a0 Typical me.\u00a0 I just can\u2019t help it.<\/p>\n

I took the boys to shoot some baskets yesterday and of course brought my camera.\u00a0 After whooping them in a game of PIG (ok, I didn\u2019t whoop anything-there\u2019s only 3 letters, but I did win!), I tried to play around and shoot in M mode.\u00a0 I have been shooting in AV (aperture value mode), but I keep reading that shooting manually is the only way to completely control the outcome of your picture (yet another-\u201cwell, duh\u201d moment).\u00a0 Since I\u2019m a bit of a control freak (slight understatement\u2026), I figured I might as well learn.\u00a0 Well, after countless overexposed and underexposed pictures, I got a few that turned out ok.\u00a0 I still have A LOT of practicing to do\u2026 I have to keep reminding myself that I didn\u2019t even know what aperture, ISO, and shutter speed meant<\/em> 4 months ago!<\/p>\n

There was this really fun red wall, so I asked Charlie to run and jump on it.\u00a0 I LOVED the shadows!\u00a0 Oh, to have the energy of a 10 year old\u2026 \"\"<\/p>\n

When we got back from the park, we had an early birthday celebration.\u00a0 Sunday is my birthday\u2026.\u00a0 Not that excited about this one, since it officially puts me in the \u201clate 30\u2019s\u201d UGH!\u00a0 Age is just a number, age is just a number\u2026<\/p>\n

Jackson is going to be in camp that day, so the boys (mostly Houston~thank Huz!!) made me an early birthday dinner.\u00a0 They made my favorite<\/em>~Ahi with pineapple salsa~YUM!!\u00a0 The boys also got me a book on Lightroom (there is NO WAY POSSIBLE I could figure these things out on my own!).\u00a0 I stayed up until 12:30 last night trying to figure it out, but ultimately ended up doing this post\/pictures through Bridge\/Elements in order to keep what little sanity I had left.<\/p>\n
