We went to the annual benefit dinner for Alpha Supported Living Services<\/a> on Saturday at one of \u201cSeattle\u2019s Best Kept Secrets\u201d, The Ruins<\/a>.\u00a0 The Ruins is a private dining club, but they are open to the public for private events.\u00a0\u00a0 The best thing is they do it all~beautiful flowers, gorgeous decorations, and\u2026delicious food!<\/p>\n

The mission of Alpha Supported Living Services is to serve individuals with developmental disabilities by providing accessible residential and other support \t services that will maximize each person\u2019s quality of life.\u00a0 We have been supporters of Alpha over the years, and are so moved each year about the stories from parents about what an amazing job Alpha does to increase the quality of life of not only the individuals with developmental disabilities, but their family members.\u00a0 With budget cuts from Olympia, it is even more important that they get funding to allow them to continue to do the amazing job they do.\u00a0 The dinner is such an a great way to support their efforts.\u00a0 It\u2019s an amazing evening, at a beautiful location, with delicious food and great entertainment.<\/p>\n

The funny thing is that we went to the event last year, and I brought my little point and shoot in the attempts to capture all the amazing details of this event.\u00a0 We were asked by my dear friend and CEO of Alpha, Scott Livengood, if we would want to capture the event this year.\u00a0 I\u2019m not sure he even got the sentence out of his mouth before I said yes!<\/p>\n

The Ruins does all the flowers, which are always AMAZING.<\/p>\n

CEO,~Scott Livengood.\u00a0 After giving the horrifying reality of budget cuts and how that effects their ability to do their job well, he had to make a joke to lighten the mood back up.<\/p>\n

Then there was the food\u2026 YUM!!<\/p>\n

\"\" \"\"<\/p>\n

The entertainment started with Tess Forte and Tamika Alston.\u00a0 Not only does Tess work for Alpha, but she plays the piano beautifully.\u00a0 Ooooh, an Tamika\u2019s voice??\u00a0 Lovely\u2026\u00a0 \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n

Later in the evening, we were treated to the sounds of Jacqui Naylor<\/a>.\u00a0 What a treat it was!!<\/p>\n

At the end of the evening,\u00a0 there were delicious cupcakes from The Radical Cupcake<\/a>.\u00a0 How cool is it that they are gluten free??<\/p>\n

Not only delicious\u2026but beautiful too!<\/p>\n

I will end with this quote from the mother of one of the young men served by Alpha.\u00a0 It gives me chills every time I read it.<\/p>\n
